GTA Tennis training Method

Our methodology consists on an accelerated learning system and a specific training process for each of our technical, tactical, mental and physical areas. Our system of accelerated learning  focuses on the formation of personal values and our specific training process concentrate on developing players game abilities. Our methodology is strongly influenced by traditional and experienced coaching from tennis in Barcelona, Spain. We also indirectly nurture from Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Sports Psychology, Mindfulness, martial arts and other disciplines.

ACCELERATE LEARNING SYSTEM

The GTA accelerated learning system is the result of applying on the court a set of acquired concepts in our mental training sessions. Those concepts are  based on the main challenges that our players faced to improve their learning process and performance. These difficulties have been the starting point of our research to create a system where players faces the least amount of limitation on their learning process.

In a very didactic the player learns about the core values of the “Accelerated Learning System”(english version coming soon). You can also access our Accelerated Learning System Course in the area of GTA Education mainly aimed to coaches. Our Accelerated Learning System is held in 6 basic principles:

6 basic principles:
ADAPTABILITY PRINCIPLE:

Nothing is permanent, everything is in constant motion, and every interaction in our reality produces a change. You must be ready to adapt to any new situation.  As Bruce Lee said: ” Be water my friend”.

 

CERTAINTY PRINCIPLE:

There is no absolute truth. Any opinions, process, practice or thought must be irrevocable. Otherwise that would block our adaptability capacity.

 

PERCEPTION PRINCIPLE:

The reality is only useful from our player point of view. GTA communication will help to clarify and provide opportunities to meditate without judgment or opinion. As a coach, we can never have all the information needed to our understand player and we cannot be totally objective since we are always contaminated with our perception.

 

BEING INDIVIDUAL PRINCIPLE:

Player must get the appropriate training to be tailored to each situation independently.

 

HOLISTIC PRINCIPLE:

Only with a comprehensive work focused on the mental side of tennis, we can overcome small or big problems that arise while working with the player.

 

BE THE CHANGE PRINCIPLE:

Players will experience changes and developments throughout his career. But one of their commitments depends on learning which of these changes is helpful and adopted as a routine.

SPECIFIC TRAINING PROCESS

This specific training process is divided into four areas: technical, tactical, mental and physical. As an open process, it is constantly changing to incorporate the latest developments. Each of these areas have been developed by GTA from scratch except the fitness area. Our goal is to develop players who can obtain the following knowledge in a consistent self-contained way:

1. Neutral mind set

2. Ball perception

3. Decision taking

4. Mobility and execution of the stroke

5. Analysis and court positioning

These area processes are influenced by other sports or artistic disciplines that help us reach a innovative level of teach traditional aspects of tennis.

5-ADAPT

5-ADAPT consists on a process of 5 stages of  tenis training on and off the court, where players will develop mental tools to help them improve their performance quickly and permanently. This process is taught using the accelerated learning system to ensure maximum efficiency.

ANALYZE YOUR CURRENT I-VERSION

– A clear picture of the player

– This stage lasts between 4-6 sessions.

DEFINE YOUR BEST I-VERSION ” HULK STAGE”

– This stage for 6-8 sessions.

EVALUATE CURRENT TOOLS

NEURO-TEC

 Technical Area

Neuro-Tec process is a fusion of the latest discoveries in the field of neuroscience applied to sport, the structure of the traditional martial arts, body awareness of dancers and the latest research on biomechanics in tennis. This learning process is constantly developing and today consists of three techniques that are acquired easily and permanently to develop a  technique that it is efficient, unconscious and responsive during the game.

Our training SMART TACTIC prepares the player to choose optimal decisions to take during the game. In GTA, we believe that these decisions, to be effective, must be made quickly and automatically. Therefore, we are developing a comprehensive tactic training system. We are increasing the chances of success thanks to developing as much as possible the weapons of our players. These weapon variability will help the player to choose the best option to use during the match depending on what strategy works best under every situation. Our whole system is composed of general tactics concepts that any player can use during the game but also of specific tactical concepts, based on each individual characteristics. Unlike our specific process Neuro-Tec to develop the technique, SMART TACTIC is based on control exercises and live ball drills. That allows us to work as realistic as possible the decision making situation during the point.
